Celebrity Gary Sinise is a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment, American values, and the veterans who have given so much to defend those values.
Sinise has provided services to thousands of veterans and active service men and women through the Gary Sinise Foundation. The purpose of his foundation is to honor the defenders of our nation and to ensure that they receive support and improve the morale of those who have struggled upon their transition to civilian life. The Gary Sinise Foundation has provided homes, vehicles, and mobility devices to wounded veterans and even designed custom smart homes tailored to the specific needs of the severely wounded.
In an interview with Larry King, Sinise was asked to share his view on gun control.
Without missing a beat, Sinise addresses the biggest fallacy of the gun control movement. “You can’t get rid of guns,” he says. If guns suddenly became illegal, they would not disappear. Any law that banned guns would not stop gun violence, it would only stop law abiding citizens from legally defending themselves.
Even if it were possible to erase guns from existence, violence would continue. “Violence isn’t going to go away,” Sinise explains. “It’s a human failing, and has been for thousands of years.”
