Tree stands come in all shapes and sizes, and the DIY Sportsman has just added one more to the mix.
A decent climbing stand is going to cost around $100 – $400, but it won’t do much good if there aren’t many trees around.
“Using a standard step ladder from your local hardware store can be a great option to get an extra few feet of visibility over tall grass, while still preventing you from becoming skylined,” the DIY Sportsman writes.
Keep in mind this isn’t the safest option to get off the ground, and you’ll still have to set up near some tall brush or risk being the tallest thing in the field.
After painting his ladder to blend in with the surroundings, the DIY Sportsman added a simple strap for easy transport to and from his truck. See how it works in the video below.
