Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has confirmed a $1 billion investment slated to produce the all new Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Wagonneer, and Wrangler pickup truck. The fabled Wrangler pickup has been running around the rumor mill for a couple years now, but the real thing could be upon us before the end of 2018.
The highly anticipated pickups will be manufactured at Ohio’s Toledo Assembly Complex. FCA has poured their investment into the Ohio plant and another assembly plant in Michigan for their new projects.
FCA president Sergio Marchionne commented, “These moves, which have been under discussion with Dennis Williams and the rest of the UAW leadership for some time, expand our capacity in these key segments, enabling us to meet growing demand here in the U.S., but more importantly to increase exports of our mid-size and larger vehicles to international markets.”
