Here’s just another reason why Jerry Miculek is possibly the coolest shooter on the internet. Just a few days before the release of the latest Star Wars film, Jerry has created a pair of fully functional DL-44 blasters used by Han Solo in Star Wars A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. Both blasters are exact replicas and are built from the same weapon parts as the original props. They feature a flash suppressor from a German MG-81 aircraft machine gun, Hensoldt Wetzlar 3x telescopic sight on the “New Hope” model, an M19 optical Sherman tank scope on the “Empire” model, fins from a model airplane engine, all on a classic wartime commercial model C96 Mauser pistol chambered in 7.63x25mm (the first successful commercial semi-auto handgun ever made). These weapons are incredibly rare, and Jerry is more than happy to show us two of the four in existence. The optics are just for show, and there are no working sights on these pistols, so everything Jerry does is strictly “point and shoot”. If you’re a fan of Star Wars, rare weapons, or speed shooting, this video is for you.
