Joel Osteen is a celebrity televangelist who loves spreading the good word almost as much as he loves making money.
Despite his lavish lifestyle, Osteen’s televised sermons are followed by more than 7 million weekly viewers spread across 100 countries.
Known for his disingenuous smile, which graces the cover of each book that helped build his fortune, Osteen hosts events for thousands of worshipers.
Michael Klimkowski is a dead ringer for the televangelist, and decided to see just how far the resemblence would take him. With the help of a small camera crew, Klimkowski decided to crash one of Osteen’s events to see if he could fool the most die-hard fans.
The team knew they were in business when the security staff let them park for free, immediately mistaking Klimkowski for Osteen. Secuirty staff even escorted Klimkowski through a private entrance into the event.
Peppering every other sentence with a “God bless,” Klimkowski’s ruse brought him all the way down to the event stage before anyone caught on. Even when the game was up, a few supporters refused to believe Klimkowski wasn’t Osteen.
