It’s that time of year again, HOT!
As the weather gets warmer, a cool dip in the pool seems all the more inviting.
Meet the Stock Tank pools, the latest trend that’s incredibly affordable. Using little more than a pump and a large livestock water trough, these DIY swimming enthusiasts have come up with some amazing ideas for the back yard. You’ll still need to filter the water, treat it with chlorine, and check the pH like a full sized pool, but that’s a small price to pay for your own little slice of paradise.

If you don’t want an algae pond, you’ll need to keep your water moving. Fortunately you won’t need a very big pump or filter for such a relatively small pool. All of the supplies you’ll need can be found at almost any hardware store or pool supply depot.
If you think the traditional above ground pool is an eye-sore, consider building a deck! It’s really not that different that adding a hot tub to the backyard for a fraction of the cost.
You can keep things simple for a rustic aesthetic that’s perfect for your stylized “hillbilly swimmin’ hole.”
Finally you can bring it all together with the addition of a stock tank bench!
