In a commercial with Reebok, Rousey teases her imminent comeback with the tag line “I’m fine with not being perfect.” The commercial starts Reebok’s new marketing campaign where athletes discuss “the ideal of perfection,” but it clearly takes advantage of Rousey’s particular rise and fall. Critics complain that Rousey was too cocky and disrespectful both inside and outside the ring. While many criticize her attitude, few can argue her incredible skill and potential as a fighter. Despite being humiliated by Holly Holm, she held the championship title for 8 consecutive fights, a feat neither Holm nor Miesha Tate came remotely close to accomplishing. Perhaps a humiliating loss was just what she needed, and this comeback may reveal a more humble Ronda Rousey. Either way die hard fans will keep cheering and die hard critics will keep booing.
