Jesse James made a name for himself playing “bad boy” on the reality TV series Monster Garage in the early 2000s. His career took a nosedive after he was caught cheating on Sandra Bullock with Michelle “Bombshell” McGee, a tattoo artist known for taking erotic photos in Nazi paraphernalia.
The former reality star spent the last decade trying to rebrand himself as a luxury gunsmith, and his weapons aren’t half bad either. Earlier this month an image of his special “Lady Liberty” 1911 went viral after viewers learned it had pieces of the Statue of Liberty woven into the Damascus. According to James, a person who will remain anonymous “found” a piece of the handrail from the torch platform that had “fallen off.” The unnamed donor brought the piece to James.
The Austin, Texas base Jesse James Firearms Unlimited has been in business since 2013. Over the past 4 years James has been constructing custom pistols for celebrities like Angelina Jolie and United States Energy Secretary Rick Perry. His firearms aren’t cheap either. “Lady Liberty” has a $85,000 pricetag and took more than 500 hours of labor to make.
Take a look at some of his more impressive pieces in the gallery below. Do you think they’re worth the hefty price tag?
